Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) is administered by “School of Foreign Languages PTE Academic Official Test Center” at the Department of Informatics Building located in Beyazıt Campus of Istanbul University (the exact LOCATION of the test center is at: İstanbul Üniversitesi Enformatik Bölümü Binası Kalenderhane Mah. 16 Mart Şehitleri Cad. Dr. Şevket Apt. No:08 Kat:1  PK 34134 Vezneciler-Beyazıt-Fatih/İstanbul). In the computer-based PTE Academic, candidates' four basic language skills (listening, reading, speaking and writing) are assessed.

Who can take the test?

Those over the age of 16 who want to prove their English language proficiency for different reasons such as education, visa, scholarship applications can take the PTE Academic. Those who are 16 or 17 years old can participate by filling out the Parental Consent form.

How much is the test and how can you pay?

It is the candidates' responsibility to learn the current fee, payment, and registration methods for the PTE Academic exam on the Pearson website.

When/Where is the PTE Academic administered?

It is recommended that you register for PTE Academic at least 72 hours before taking the exam. During Covid-19, no new registrations are allowed for any sessions in the last 24 hours. There are PTE Academic test centers in Istanbul, Ankara, Adana, Denizli, Erzurum, Kayseri and Diyarbakır. You should follow the PTE Academic website regularly as new test venues can be added and/or temporary arrangements can be made. It is the candidates’ responsibility to follow and carefully read the e-mails that will be sent upon registration.

  OPEN HOURS CHANGE NOTICE

Dear PTE-Academic Candidate,

Starting from November 16, 2021 Tuesday, the total time for the PTE-Academic test will be changed from 3 hours to 2 hours 15 minutes. Therefore, the working hours for our test center will also be revised as follows:

MORNING SESSION

09:00 - Door opens, admission procedures

10:00 - Morning sessions starts

12:15 - Morning session ends

12:15 – 13:15 - LUNCH BREAK – AIR OUT (CLOSED)

AFTERNOON SESSION

13:15 – Door Opens, admission procedures

13:45 – Afternoon session starts

16:00 – Afternoon session ends

The candidates can use the waiting room, only in person and when the door opens for the session they registered. Therefore no guests, no bulky luggage (please read site directions for specific locker dimensions), and no unsolicited cross-session visitors would be allowed. Please plan your arrival accordingly.

Please expect a fever scan and an HES code scan at building entrance. Please note that you will be denied entry if you are running a fever, other COVID-19 symptoms, fail to present your authentic individual HES code or if your HES code shows a risk warning.
